Starting May 1st (this Thursday), we are kicking off a month long challenge to write every day for 31 days. Weekdays, weekends, holidays, all of them. Even for 15 minutes.
I won’t be checking in every day (nobody wants that), so in my never-ending quest to make the creative process a little more tangible, I’ve built a simple tool to help you track your writing streak throughout the challenge.
Here’s how it works:
Head to this Google Sheet and copy the template to your own private google drive (or download as a CSV file to use in excel). The instructions are at the top of the page.
Every day, log your work.
The spreadsheet automatically updates with:
A running tally of how many days in May you have written
A streak counter. If you miss a day, the streak counter starts over.
Your average page count per day
Total amount of time you’ve written over the challenge
Total number of pages written
Your sharing streak
After you write for the day, share the accomplishment with the community by taking a screenshot of your numbers and post them in the Residuals Discord on the Weekly Goals thread. You can also share a little about what you’re working, what you’re struggling with, or what breakthroughs you’ve had.
Ready? Download the Writing Streak Tracker Here and warm up with the last few days of April:
I’ll send out a reminder on Thursday morning, and we’ll all kick off the month with some motivation to carve out time to write.
