June #5: Submit Your Stats! (And Meetup Reminder)
It's the last day of the June challenge - time to submit your stats!
It’s the last day of the June Writing Challenge, and your last day to rack up some pages on your tracker.
When your writing for the day is done, take a moment to reflect on your month. Maybe you wrote every single day (I got close, but not this month), or maybe you only wrote for a few days here and there. No matter where you landed, we’re glad to have you in the community, and tomorrow we get to start up all over again with new goals and a new chance to write the projects that always seem to get pushed to the back-burner.
If you’re new to Residuals, you can get your copy of the writing tracker here (each month has a tab at the bottom), and you can check in daily in the Writing Challenges thread on the discord server.
Submit Your June Numbers
At the end of each month, we gather everyone’s numbers to share the full community breakdown and shoutout the members who defied distraction to write. Here’s the May breakdown so you can get an idea of what it looks like.
When you finish your writing for the day today, fill out this quick form to be included in our June Breakdown.
Your info will be kept private, and I wont share any individual person’s stats or names on leaderboards without your approval on the form. In that case, your numbers will just be included in the overall community totals.
Some of the things we’ll take a look at:
How many total pages were written in June by all participants
Total community hours written
Average day totals
What kinds of projects people worked on (and finished)
July’s Challenge
Last week I announced a new kind of challenge for July. Beyond writing every day, we’re adding an additional challenge to break the 2 Pages Per Day Average.
Our FREE WRITING TRACKER automatically calculates your daily average, so let’s spend this next month seeing who can push past 2 pages per day. By the end of the month, you’ll have written 62 pages. That’s a new hour long pilot, or two half hour pilots, or 2/3rds of a feature!
One last thing: LA Meetup Tomorrow Night (July 1st)
For those not on the Discord to see the announcement: our next LA meetup will be on July 1st at Lawless Brewery in North Hollywood from 6pm-9pm in the beer garden area outside. The meetup is open to all writers or all levels, so come grab a beer (or non-alcoholic drink) and talk shop with other Residualites. RSVP Here so we can get a headcount.
That’s it. Time to start up new goals for July!
I’ll share the June breakdown and totals next week! In the meantime, I’ll see you in the discord to share daily progress.
